Leigh Shambo, MSW
is HEAL's founder and lead therapist/ educator.
She is a lifelong horsewoman with many years of coaching
& training experience. A serious riding injury in 1988
led to her interest in the psycho-spiritual journey that
horsemanship represents, and to a second career as a
mental health therapist. With training from the
Equine-Assisted Growth and Learning Association and
"Advanced Facilitator" credentials from her
apprenticeship with Linda Kohanov at the Epona Center
in Tucson, Leigh helps people apply the core concepts of
equine emotional wisdom & the "horse whisperer" in
life-changing ways. Leigh conducts therapeutic services
and horsemanship clinics with help from HEAL affiliated
therapists and horse specialists.
